Understanding Data Breaches
In 2020 alone, there have been over 256 million records stolen. Breached or lost by companies across the globe. In 2016, the GDPR regulation come into act.
This regulation was put in place to protect consumer data. Businesses in Europe were given time to improve systems, and it also regulates the way customer data is managed.
There are still a huge number of data breach breaches occurring in the UK and overseas. When a data breach occurs, this could be carried out as an attack by a criminal, a copy by mistake or a malicious attempt to share your data.
Either way, this is a breach of the GDPR regulations. Customers that have suffered a breach of information that has been shared without their consent can request compensation.
The amount of compensation depends on the claim itself. We will determine an estimate of compensation or what we feel or believe you are entitled to.
The customer must prove that they have suffered either damages or distress with the data breach.
